Welcome to KU!
Watkins Health Services (WHS) is your doctor away from home while you are at KU. We provide comprehensive medical care to currently enrolled students of the University of Kansas.
Each KU student has a secure patient portal for communicating with Watkins. You may begin using your patient portal 72 hours after enrolling during your orientation session.
Requirements for New Students
Important steps to complete before arriving on campus:
- Review the immunization policies established by the University of Kansas and monitored for compliance by Watkins Health Services. Enter your immunization history and submit official documentation through your patient portal showing how you meet KU's immunization requirements.
- Review the Mandatory Alcohol Education Policy that applies to newly enrolled students under the age of 21.
Helpful Tips for New Students
Before your first visit to Watkins, we also recommend accessing your patient portal to complete the following:
- Click on the “Medical Clearances” tab from the left menu to complete the Health History Form, enter Health Insurance Information and acknowledge the Notice of Privacy Practices and Treatment Agreement.
- Click on the “Insurance Card” tab from the left menu to upload photos of the front and back of your health insurance card.
Consider transferring any prescription medications to Watkins Pharmacy for convenience.
