American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Training

Heartsaver Basic Life Support (BLS) is sponsored by the American Heart Association (AHA) and available for KU students, faculty, and staff. The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.
In-House Training
Watkins Health Services provides BLS Training in Watkins Memorial Health Center. Once the participant successfully completes the training, they will receive a training certification card that is valid for two years. Costs will vary for students, faculty, or staff. Blended Learning
Blended learning for BLS is a combination of online training followed by a hands-on session at Watkins Health Services. The online training can be selected directly through the American Heart Association. Once the participant successfully completes both the online training and the hands-on session, they will receive a training certification card that is valid for two years. Costs will vary for students, faculty, or staff. To inquire about in-person training, contact whs-services@ku.edu.
