For non-emergency advice, KU students always have access to our Nurse Helpline at 785-864-9583.

Health questions can arise at any time. That is why our Nurse Helpline is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at no charge. This Nurse Helpline is not intended for KU employee use.

During our normal business hours, Watkins nurses answer the Helpline. The phone nurse has the ability to:

  • Access your health records.
  • Assess and provide treatment options for common illnesses.
  • Help you decide what level of care to seek.

When Watkins is closed, our after-hours on-call service will:

  • Assess and provide treatment options for common illnesses.
  • Help you decide what level of care to seek.
