Immediate Care Clinic
Watkins Health Services operates an Immediate Care Clinic for employed KU faculty and staff. The clinic is open weekdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm when classes are in session or 8:30 am to 4:30 pm when classes are not in session. To schedule an appointment, call the ICC at 785-864-9565.
Virtual Appointments Available
Using Zoom video-conferencing technology, faculty and staff can connect to one of our board-certified medical providers via the Zoom app for a live consultation over a computer, tablet or phone. The patient must be in Kansas at the time of the visit.
How It Works
- Request a Zoom appointment.
Call our appointment line at 785-864-9565 between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday to request a Zoom appointment.
- Receive Zoom appointment confirmation.
A member of our staff will email you instructions and a link for your appointment. You will need to install the Zoom app on your computer or mobile device ahead of time.
- Attend Zoom appointment.
Follow the instructions provided to attend your Zoom appointment on the scheduled date and time.
The clinic treats acute onset problems such as bone and joint, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, skin issues, etc. Chronic conditions are best managed by your Primary Care Physician. Work-related injuries should be referred to LMH Health as the University’s approved provider.
Our intent is to provide immediate care to employed faculty and staff of KU and the KU Affiliated Corporations, i.e. KU Athletics, KU Memorial Unions, Alumni Association, Endowment Association, Hilltop Child Development Center and the ROTC program. Family members, temporary staff, former faculty and staff and retirees are not eligible for this service.

Please check-in to the Immediate Care Clinic on the second floor of Watkins Memorial Health Center. The most convenient way for you to access this clinic is by entering the building on the east side and taking the stairs or elevator to the second floor.
Co-pays are collected at time of service. Cash, check, credit card and debit card payments are accepted. Patients will be billed for out-of-pocket balances on a monthly basis.
We are in-network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas (and national Blue card program), United HealthCare, Cigna, Aetna and Coventry. We will bill any insurance company other than Medicare or Medicaid plans. You will be responsible for any non-covered charges.
