This semester, Watkins Health Services (WHS) welcomed Nancy Stark, RN, MS, APNP, to provide additional services to students. As an adult psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, she brings 25 years of experience helping patients with mental health issues. In her new role, she provides treatment of persistent mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and other psychotic disorders.
She strongly believes that persons with mental health issues deserve the same compassion and support that patients with chronic illnesses like diabetes, asthma or heart disease receive without the community fearing or stigmatizing them. Her past work with community residential mental health programs, homeless shelters and hospital-based addiction medicine consult services will greatly benefit our student population.
Nancy is housed with our primary care providers and can refer students to Counseling and Psychological Services also located at Watkins Memorial Health Center, as well as to Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center in Lawrence when additional services are needed.
Students may call our appointment line at 785-864-9507 to schedule an appointment.
