Concealed Carry

Monday, June 26, 2017

In keeping with Kansas law and KU policy, Watkins Health Services (WHS) regulates the carrying of concealed handguns inside Watkins Memorial Health Center.  Persons may not carry a handgun during any treatment or medical procedure which is performed.  Since Watkins does not provide secure weapon storage, persons who choose to carry a concealed handgun must plan accordingly and transfer the handgun to a secure location, residential or vehicular, outside of the health center before entering.   Handguns that become visible or are verbally disclosed while a person is in the health center violate KU policy and the KU Public Safety Office will be notified.
